Slow Device (Local)

Common Complaints Include:
– My device is slow to start up
– My device is always slow

Potential Resolutions:

My device is slow to start up/my device is always slow: 99% of the time it is because the user is using outdated hardware or a mechanical hard-drive. However, it is worth implementing other solutions first and then follow up with this recommendation of getting a new hard-drive (SSD). First, turn off all unnecessary startup apps in “Startup Apps”. Secondly, perform an sfc scan in command prompt using “sfc /scannow” (do this multiple times until there are no errors). Lastly, check the usage of the device’s RAM and CPU usage to see if they are maxing out (the device may need a memory upgrade. CPU upgrade typically means new device as laptop CPU’s will be soldered). The best way to fix a slow device is to get a new device, or upgrade your RAM/Drive, this will have the greatest results by far.
